Inspiration March 3, 2023 Back for more inspiration Styling Your Home for Spring 2023 The days are continuing to get lighter, and with them comes the apprehension of warmer weather and everlasting summer evenings. However, before we can fully put the idea of de-icing our windscreens behind us, we first need to put a spring back in our steps. Here at G Plan, we’ve put together a couple of ideas to help you refresh your home décor this springtime. We’re thinking light, airy tones, with fresh and floral scents to help you fully immerse your home in this joyous, hopeful season. After all, springtime is all about a lease of new life, so there’s no better time to restyle your living spaces. So, without further ado, here are 8 ways to refresh your décor this spring. Light & Breezy Winter is a very cosy and wholesome time, but it can often bring with it a lot of clutter and chaos. There’s nothing better than opening the windows and letting in fresh air on the first relatively warm day of the year. Draw back the curtains and let in the light; getting your windows open will also help get rid of indoor pollutants and of course, make your home smell clean and fresh. Our Connie styled in Plush Airforce will allow any living space to appear lighter and brighter, adding a soft, inviting presence. Fresh & Floral One of the best parts of springtime is the fresh, floral scents. Beautiful pink blossom is starting to fill trees; daffodils and primroses are popping up everywhere. After a good spring clean, one of the best feelings is to light a refreshing candle, releasing heady, romantic fragrances into the air. One of G Plan’s personal favourite scents is the Sweet Orange & Geranium Soy Candle from The Botanical Candle Co. A bright and zingy fragrance that will uplift any space; with undertones of sweet orange and lemon balm, this is the perfect spring scent. With spring just around the corner, it’s time to incorporate some beautiful blushes, calming creams and wonderful whites into your home décor. Lighter colours create a more calming sense, allowing your home to become your sanctuary. You don’t have to redo your whole home colour scheme, but instead, incorporate small touches of lighter palettes within your scatter cushions, rugs, curtains and bed linen. The Rosalie Bed Line Collection from The White Company is the perfect way to illuminate your bedroom, detailed with beautiful lace decoration and a classic Oxford border. Biophilic Beauty Biophilic design has already become a major interior design trend in 2023. There’s no better time to bring the outside indoors, than during springtime. We already fill our houses with beautiful blooms, so this is a great time to start a herb box on a sunny window ledge, or fill a space with an abundance of house plants. Why not treat yourself and order some gorgeous Bloom and Wild flowers. Freshly picked and packed daily, choose from a selection of letter box bouquets and house plants; the perfect answer to filling your living spaces with refreshing foliage. No one likes to see clotheshorses scattered around the house; they also take up a lot of space and use a lot of heating to dry clothing. Drying your washing outside will create crisp, fresh washing, whilst increasing its lifespan and reducing general wear and tear. Natural sunlight and a gentle breeze are much kinder on your clothes, but also your electric bill too! It also means you get to spend more time outside in the spring sunshine, allowing you to get that much needed Vitamin D. Soft & Soothing We’ve already covered adding more muted and calming tones into your home décor, but soft, soothing fabrics can also have the same restful effect on your space. Beautiful, versatile soft and comfortable fabrics can make a room appear much more relaxed and make furniture extra snug. G Plan’s Plush fabrics, such as Plush Turmeric and Plush Airforce, are unique crushed velvet-like fabrics and will help re-energise any living space. The textured surfaces of these fabrics have a high lustre, which creates a refraction of light, allowing a room to appear bright and airy. Velvet-like fabrics are also less likely to pull or snag, meaning they have better longevity, especially in homes with children or pets. Luxurious and incredibly inviting, crushed velvet-like fabrics tend to feel cool and refreshing in warmer months, and warm in colder months, making them the perfect fabric for the transition from winter to spring. If you’d like to get a feel for our plush velvet-like fabrics yourself, you can do so by ordering a fabric swatch selection from the G Plan website.
