Sofa Buying Guide: Room Size

Top Tip 1: Room size

Before you start looking for your dream sofa, the first thing you need to consider is the size of your living room. You don’t want your new sofa to overpower your existing furniture and accessories, or look lost in a larger space.

Some things to consider:

  • For smaller spaces, you may wish to think about a small two seater, such as our Mistral sofa or one of our more compact sofa styles, such as Florence.
  • If you have a larger room, you could make a dramatic statement with a generous sofa like Washington.

But will it actually fit?

Fitting the sofa in your living room is one thing, but is your home versatile enough to accommodate its journey from your front door to your living room?

Some things to consider:

  • Measure your doorframes and hallways before purchasing your sofa.
  • Ask your local stockist if your chosen sofa comes in sections for easy manoeuvring.

For those with a smaller frame or compact room:

We understand that no two living rooms are the same, so we created a versatile range of sofas and armchairs that accommodate even the smallest of spaces. For example, our Oakland model offers an alternative to standard sized sofa and chair options. We’ve subtly adjusted the height and width to make it more compact, but with the same comfort and support.

Our smaller models are identical in styling, so they can easily be combined with other items in the range. To find out more information on all of our sofas, have a look through our collection online or order a brochure.
