Inspiration December 3, 2025 Back for more inspiration Get the Vintage Look this festive season Christmas is right around the corner, and it has come around in the blink of an eye! Whilst we love all things festive, winter styling can sometimes feel like the same old thing year after year. That’s why this season, we are taking inspiration from times gone by. When perusing our archives, we found this image from 1974 that perfectly encapsulates a warm and comfortable winter environment. With browns, burnt siennas and leather aplenty, here is how you can encapsulate our favourite style elements from this look in your own home. Bold Walls The 70s were a colourful time. People didn’t shy away from the bold and bright; in fact, neutrals seemed to scare more interior designers. Whilst the winter chill is on, we think oranges and warm browns are perfect for bringing some warmth back into your space. In our archival look, you can see a deep orange adorning the walls. You can recreate this with this gorgeously bright paint from Lick. A playful, youthful orange positively bursting with warmth, yellow-based Orange 04 is great for brightening up spaces – with just enough grey to keep things chic. Exposed Wood This room from our catalogue is full of exposed wooden elements. From the fireplace to all the vintage G Plan Cabinets, dark wood is a major feature of this room and the 70s as a whole. To recreate this in your own home, opt for furniture that has wooden elements rather than the ever-popular brass and silver. Also, utilise some cabinets in your space. Our Marlow Dining collection is the perfect deep, dark wood cabinet collection to get this look in your space. Especially our Wide Sideboards and Lamp Table. Ornate Frames We love simple and sophisticated, but for a look like this, room accents should be dramatic, ornate and intricate. One of the easiest ways to add a luxurious, 70s flair to a space is by using ornate picture frames. Not only are hung pictures a brilliant way to add a sentimental touch to your room, but they also affordably add a ton of character. You can see them littered around the set in our Vintage room shot. To recreate this in your home, we recommend using these ones from Amazon. Luxe Leather This look was all about the Leather. You can see two brown leather Chairs that accompany a brown leather sofa. Although we no longer make that model, you can still recreate the look with our products. We love our Cambridge Tan Leather for this; it’s warm, nutty, with slight yellow undertones that match this room’s ambience perfectly. Pair the Cambridge Tan with our The Seventy One Armchair to get a modernised version of this look. The Seventy One’s laid-back proportions and deep, soft seats invite you to sink into a stylish embrace. The Seventy One’s wood framing is an ideal nod to Mid-Century style that any vintage-inspired space needs. So, there you have it. That’s how you can get inspiration from our vintage look in your own home this festive season. Go Back Share this article × Share via Facebook Share via Twitter Share via Email
