Home Inspiration for Autumn
As we welcome in a new season, it’s time to think about getting the home ready for those hibernation months! A simple way to create a new interior look is to switch up your soft furnishings. We’ve picked out two of our favourite trends to give you inspiration for a home makeover this Autumn…
Inky blues are really popular at the moment and we love how these deep, dark tones can bring mood and mystery to any space. Pick out lampshades, cushions, throws and artwork in similar tones; a few simple accessories can work wonders.
If you have a neutral backdrop, it’s easy to switch up your scheme throughout the year. Scatter cushions add interest and comfort to your living room and can simply be swapped in for the new season. Our favourite choices for this particular colour scheme are Wave Midnight and Palm Midnight.
Incorporate lots of different textures to add warmth and depth to your Winter hideout. Soft-touch velvets and chunky knits will keep your living space cosy; we love the Sheridan Midnight Haden Throw available from Debenhams, perfect for draping over your G Plan sofa.
Neutral colours look elegant and sophisticated and remain very on trend in interiors this year. Keep your room contemporary with cool whites and greys for a pared-back, stylish scheme. The Milton Fabric sofa looks great in a soft grey like Tango Chalk, which makes a perfect backdrop for layering up different tones and textures.
To make this colour scheme work for Winter, incorporate lots of texture through soft furnishings. Think cashmere throws, mohair cushions and faux fur rugs. For a little luxury, choose a deep pile, plush rug, which will be perfect for sinking your toes into as the nights draw in. Table lamps and candles will also bring warmth and cast a glow over your space for a really relaxing sanctuary.
If you want to add colour to this scheme whilst keeping it understated and on-trend, try some blush or rose tones. Soft pinks are warming and welcoming at this time of year and look great alongside neutral shades. For a simple update, opt for scatter cushions in Hopsack Lavender or Victoria Rose. Rose gold is another fantastic way to incorporate pink which you could bring in through simple accessories or a Floor Standing Lamp like this one from Marks and Spencer.
