Garden Party Inspiration
Summer is a great time to get the whole family together and make the most of the sunshine with barbeques, picnics and garden parties. To personlise your social gatherings and make them stand out from the rest, we’ve pulled together our favourite creative ideas to impress your guests.
Brighten up your garden with some fun and colourful bunting. It will set the scene for your party and it’s also great fun to make. You can use scraps of fabric you have lying around the house (old tablecloths, clothing and bedding are perfect) or buy some from your local fabric shop to coincide with a specific theme or colour scheme.
If you’re feeling artistic, have a go at arranging flowers in glass bottles and jars to bring a rustic charm to your garden. Whether you use them to decorate your patio, create pathways or simply hang them from branches, these unique decorations will add colour and character and are sure to be a talking point among your guests. You could even give them away as party favours at the end of the evening.
ILLUMINATE YOUR GARDEN
The party needn’t stop when the sun goes down! Remove the flowers from your jars and drop in some tea lights to transform the atmosphere and also help guide your guests in the dark. Collect and recycle interestingly shaped vessels to hold tea lights and candles which can be displayed on windowsills, tables or hung from trees.
No party is complete without balloons! Experiment with different colours and sizes or customize them with ribbon and artificial flowers. Group them in sets to make beautiful balloon bouquets for an extra special display.
SOMEWHERE TO SIT
Getting large families together can be hard when you don’t have much space, but if the weather is good you can be creative with your seating areas. If your guests don’t mind sitting on the floor, a few longer low tables will give you more flexibility and help create a relaxed atmosphere. Keep everyone comfy with picnic blankets, throws and pillows. This type of set up works really well for providing little ones with a fun eating space too.
Cool down on hot days with these unique beverage ideas. By infusing flowers or fruit in water you can make your guests some delicious and refreshing drinks which double up as eye-catching table decorations. We love these simple recipes from Wellness Mama.
If the Great British weather is not complying, don’t despair. Give your ice cubes a summery twist by freezing flowers or fruit. Add to drinks, ice buckets or homemade ice lollies.
