Blue is the new black
Dramatic, dark hues have been popular in interiors for a while and we’re now seeing a shift from blacks to blues. This trend has come straight from the catwalks and we love it. We’ve pulled together some of our favourite ways to embrace this bold colour choice and start introducing it into your home.
The easiest way to revamp a room is with some scatter cushions! We love these blue scatters in Bloom Storm, Wave Midnight and Haze Midnight. The great thing about accessorising with scatter cushions is they are interchangeable, you can easily update the look of a room depending on the current trend, season or even your mood just by swapping your scatters out for a different colour.
Another great way to introduce blue into a room is to upscale an existing piece of furniture. It’s a fun way to give an old piece of furniture a new lease of life and a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon! This beautiful chalk paint in Napoleonic Blue from Annie Sloan is perfect.
If you’re feeling bold or are looking to completely change the look and feel of a room painting it blue will add give it a new lease of life. Not only does blue look sophisticated but it is also said to be very calming. We particularly love the new Dulux Colour of the Year Denim Drift, a beautiful colour, which completely deserves its title.
We also love Hague Blue from Farrow & Ball, you’ve probably seen it before as it’s often talked about in many of the leading interiors magazines.
So, if you fancy updating your interior, you can’t go wrong with adding a little blue. By using our tips you will totally transform your living space. For more inspiration take a look at our Pintrest board and be sure to show us how you’ve used this trend in your home on Facebook!
