A great opportunity has arisen to join an iconic British brand and a dynamic team with big plans!

We are seeking a Purchasing Manager to join our G Plan Operations function at this exciting time.

We’ve been around since 1953, so we know a lot about making the perfect sofa – but we certainly don’t just sit back and rest on our laurels. We strive to improve at every opportunity, driving the business forward and evolving the brand. We are guardians of our heritage but embrace the very latest in technology and innovation.

As part of our Operations team, you will work alongside your commercial, development and distribution colleagues in our purpose-built Wiltshire manufacturing facility and head office. The heart of the organisation, this is where we proudly hand-make every single G Plan sofa and chair. A G Plan sofa is an investment piece and our consumers know they are buying a sofa designed with the values of enduring comfort and quality at its core.

Within this senior role, you will report to the Group Procurement Director and be responsible for buying decisions that positively contribute towards achievement of business goals.  This includes management and sourcing of all purchasing activities for externally sourced raw materials, consumables and services, proactive management of supplier relationships, management of inventory levels to meet production requirements and maintenance of procurement data within our ERP system.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a proven track record within procurement, ideally with experience gained within a fast paced manufacturing setting. You will be able to demonstrate a collaborative approach to supplier negotiation, be commercially aware and have exceptional analytical and organisational skills.  You will have experience of using Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar ERP software, along with advanced excel skills. CIPS qualified candidates would be desirable, however this is not essential  You must have a positive and enthusiastic work ethic, with the desire to develop the procurement function.

Hours of work would be 7:00am – 4:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am – 1:00pm Friday, however due to the senior level of the role some flexibility in these hours would be required. Whilst the role is predominately based at our manufacturing site at Melksham, there may be some flexibility in terms of hybrid working (depending on business needs).  You would also be required to travel to suppliers and other group sites.

If you have the passion and commitment to help us continue to develop, manufacture and supply our quality products, then we would love to hear from you.

In return we offer a competitive salary and benefits package; 32 days annual leave including public holidays, pension scheme, life assurance, company sick pay, staff purchase scheme, cycle to work scheme, shopping rewards scheme, 24/7 doctor line, employee referral scheme and an employee assistance programme.
