Factory Finance Manager

Hours: 37.5 per week
8.30am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday (hybrid working considered, although at least 3 days a week must be on site)

As a key member of our Finance function, you will work alongside our operational and commercial teams and in our purpose-built Wiltshire head office and manufacturing facility. The heart of the organisation, this is where we proudly hand-make every single G Plan sofa and chair. A G Plan sofa is an investment piece and our consumers know they are buying a sofa designed with the values of enduring comfort and quality at its core.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the key responsibilities of this role will be:

  • Preparation of the monthly management accounts specifically on the gross profit section of the P&L and owning the stock balance sheets, together with appropriate commentary in the reporting pack
  • Supporting analysis to provide insight to financial performance of the business
  • Delivering monthly reporting pack to the Group timetable deadlines
  • Business facing accountant with the G Plan operational team on site, to proactively alleviate issues as they arise
  • Analysis of stock gains and losses, liaising with the purchasing/stock management teams to provide explanations for them
  • Analysis and reporting on labour and material variances weekly and working with operations to improve these
  • Weekly payroll analysis for the factory and corresponding journals
  • Key involvement in stock take process and balance sheet impact
  • Weekly cash flow completion and ownership for areas of control
  • Communicating with internal and external suppliers and customers as necessary to resolve issues and joining debtor review meetings.
  • Prepare and obtain information to assist the build of the annual budgets & forecasting
  • Preparation of VAT returns, and ownership of the VAT control accounts in the balance sheet
  • Support the annual audit and statutory accounts process
  • Compile P11d, PSA and Class1a reporting as required
  • Support finance contribution to divisional board meetings and senior team reviews
  • Support wider finance team (credit control, accounts payable and payroll) as necessary and any reporting to Group Finance
  • Support the Head of Finance and Brands Finance Director with ad-hoc or other activity as it arises

Applicants will possess the following key skills:

  • CIMA / ACCA / ACA qualified / finalist or very strong part qualified
  • Proactive and wanting to make a difference by adding value
  • Experience of working in partnership with non-financial managers
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with people at all levels
  • Proven IT system skills, utilising various systems, reporting platforms and excel to a strong level
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ambitious, driven and able to work successfully on own initiative
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines and concurrent challenges effectively
