Design and Development Administrator

Hours: 7.00am - 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 7.00am - 12.00 noon Friday

Salary: Competitive

Location: Melksham, Wiltshire

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join an iconic British brand and a dynamic team with big plans!

As part of our Design and Development team, you will work alongside your operational, commercial and distribution colleagues in our purpose-built manufacturing facility and head office. The heart of the organisation, this is where we proudly hand-make every single G Plan sofa and chair. A G Plan sofa is an investment piece, and our consumers know they are buying a sofa designed with the values of enduring comfort and quality at its core.

Within this fast-paced and varied role, you will provide administrative support to the Design & Development department to ensure new model introductions are delivered on time.

Specifically, you will be responsible for raising internal and external purchase orders and liaising with suppliers and our overseas cutting and sewing factory.

You will actively monitor design and development furniture, material usage and componentry stock levels to ensure realistic stock transfers and stock adjustments are processed on a regular basis.

You will obtain quotations from suppliers on all new models, including monitoring and record-keeping of new fabrics and leathers coming through development.

Regular maintenance of documentation on our quality system will be essential to ensure both factories are working on the most up to date information.

You will work closely with our development upholsterers to complete model information packages to ensure model introductions run smoothly from development into production. These will include model specifications, foam & fibre specifications, upholstery methods and quality standards.

Applicants will be happy to deal with technical data, have good numeric skills and have a keen eye for detail. You will be proficient in the use of word/excel and PowerPoint. A general interest in working in a creative environment is also beneficial!

If you have the passion and commitment to help us continue to design our quality products, then we would love to hear from you.

Hours of work for this role are: 7.00 am – 4.00 pm Monday to Thursday and 7.00 am – 12.00 noon Friday.
